Lent's almost over. Today is Holy Thursday, and Easter is just days away. But it's not too late!
This video might strike us as kind of fake or cheesy. But it's the TRUTH. Do I realize what is going to happen in the next three days? I've got a major part to play whether I realize it or not! This drama will unfold. Christ will die on the cross for me. I've nailed him to the cross. Do we know how much he loves me?!
this has been a merry Lent for me, joyful. I thought it was just me but not so. The joy of this Pope is infectious
ReplyDeleteFor me the Lenten season especially Easter have always been about Sacrifice, but not in the sense that we normally thing of. Yes we sacrifice something to remind us of the hardship Jesus faced in the desert, and yes we take this time to reflect on Jesus sacrificing himself to redeem our sins, but do we think of how these things are a metaphor for our own actions. Haven't we all made the mistake of judging someone? Just like Jesus's crucifixion our judgments can hurt the innocent around us. But we need to remember, though we may fall, though our own sides bleed, He bleeds with us and love, if we allow it, will be reborn in our hearts.
ReplyDeleteDaniel,
DeleteThanks. A very powerful reflection - how right you are! Christ dies for and in us so that we might rise with him. One of the biggest lights I've had this year is the reality of this mystery of our redemption! God bless.

The only thing that would've made it more powerful would've been for the young man having the revelation to have received Our Lord on the tongue, while kneeling like Pope Benedict XI has said is proper.
ReplyDeleteKneeling and receiving communion that way is certainly a great sign of reverence and appreciation for Christ in the Eucharist. I find it important to remember though, that the most important gestures and postures are those inside us - our attitudes and faith! God bless.
