The Pro Bowl seems less and less a sporting event - at worst, a farce and at best, a full payed Hawaiian vacation for fan favorites.
But football and sports in any shape continue to fascinate millions - why? There is some competitive element deep down in man that has to battle it out on the field. He has to prove his mettle to himself and others.
Yet sometimes the disconnect between pro sports and life is disappointing. Inspiring athletes arrested for stupid crimes. Ridiculous disputes over money threaten to shut down entire leagues.
So what's the real reflection of the state of affairs in the NFL? The halfhearted, semi-comical Pro Bowl or the most awaited, intense sporting event of the year - the Super Bowl.
I know I'm exaggerating, but doesn't it depend on the men participating in them?
